Here is a message from Great Dane Rescue North Texas:
The volunteers and supporters of Great Dane Rescue of North Texas would like to thank the Cap and Hare Homebrew Club for your help and kindness during our biggest fundraising drive of the year. We are so grateful that so many of you bought raffle tickets from us. Unfortunately, the winner of the 50” Samsung TV was not someone from the club, but the money you helped us raise goes straight to the vet bills of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs – so that means you’re all winners in the eyes of some very needy animals!

The April 12th Big Brew was a huge success, lots of great food, great company, and of course 85 gallons of Weizenbock, one of which will be the winner at the Saint Arnold Big Brew Competition!
Please make sure to get with either James Lallande or Nick Goodman before May 11th so we can get your entries for the Saint Arnold Competition, one of use will take care of the shipping, and of course the entry fee for this competition is FREE!
Here are the details.
Saint Arnold Entry Info
If you weren't there on Saturday, let me tell you something though, if you are going to do a 55% wheat beer, especially in a system our size, USE RICE HULLS! The day was quite fun, but we did have some sparge issues, we managed to get it done, but it wasn't easy.
Thanks for the fun times, all the food was wonderful.
Also, Thanks to everyone who helped clean up, and especially to James Lallande for transporting the system both ways and for storing the system.

Big Brew, Smoked Food and Meeting - Sat April 12th! |

This weekend is the Big Monster Brew/Smoked Food/Club meeting over at Nick's house. Should be a fun filled day of brewing, eating, drinking. I will be posting a thread in the forum for food signup, location details and schedule, let's all try to post what we are bringing so we don't have 15 tubs of potato salad and nothing else to eat.
The plan is to brew a Weizenbock, we will start heating strike water by 8am, mash in by 9am. Plan to eat around 1pm, start the meeting at 3pm.
If you want a share of this Big Brew you must post in the Big Brew thread so we have an accurate count! The cost of per share of the Big Brew and the recipe will also be posted in the thread.
